Republicans hate anthony sabatini
His own party kicked him out.
FACT:
In February, the Lake County GOP rejected Sabatini’s membership application, citing Sabatini’s adversarial relationship with some Republicans, including President Donald Trump.
FACT:
Before that, Sabatini publicly feuded with the Chair of the Lake County GOP, Taylor Yarkosky. Sabatini filed a lawsuit against the Lake County GOP after a member who supported him was blocked from entering a meeting. Even before that, Yarkosky had accused Sabatini of fraudulently including names on a petition seeking a special meeting of the Lake County GOP to change leadership. Several members of the local party whose names were included on a petition later reached out to Yarkosky to say that they had not consented to their names being included.
FACT:
Perhaps worst of all, Sabatini has made an enemy of the most powerful man in GOP politics: President Donald Trump. For months, Sabatini has been antagonistic toward the President, arguing he’s been too soft on immigration and foreign policy. He called the President’s deportation rates “a failure” and has aligned himself with Trump-opposed Republicans, including U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie, who just lost a GOP Primary to a Trump-endorsed candidate.
FACT: Sabatini’s feud with the President led Trump’s legal team to send a cease and desist letter to a PAC claiming Sabatini is “the Trump choice” for Congress. In truth, he’s no one’s choice for Congress.
